Júpiter é o seu nome, herdado de um anterior cão que vivera também neste lugar e que apresentava características comportamentais muito semelhantes a este. De aparência não tem nada que ver, por se ter tratado de um Cocker Spaniel Inglês.

The following project follows the life of a dog.

Jupiter is its name, inherited from a previous dog that also lived in this place and that presented behavioral characteristics very similar to this one. In appearance it has nothing to do with it, as it was an English Cocker Spaniel.

O Júpiter é um cão bucólico. Algumas vezes acompanha observativamente o trabalho que se desenvolve no campo onde a casa dele se ocupa. Algumas dessas vezes que observa o trabalho que é feito, aproveita também para vir extrair um pouco de empatia de quem trabalha, chegando-se muito perto da pessoa como se subtendesse uma necessidade de o mimar.

Júpiter is a bucolic dog. Sometimes he observes the work being carried out in the field where his house is located. Some of those times when he observes the work being done, he also takes the opportunity to extract a little empathy from the person working, getting very close to the person as if he felt a need to pamper him.

Nem sempre a sua proximidade é desejada por quem trabalha por muitas vezes pisar os regos da terra trabalhada. No entanto, prevalece a empatia de não o tratar mal por ser muito mansinho e muito bem comportado.

Its proximity is not always desired by those who work there, as they often have to step on the furrows of the land they work. However, empathy prevails and we don’t treat him badly because he is very tame and well-behaved.

Quase sempre que me dirigo para o campo e a casa onde o Júpiter habita ele espera-me na estrada que lhe dá acesso.

Ele faz a questão de vir cumprimentar quem nela cruza. Quando estaciono o carro e abro a porta, de calda muito agitada ele espreita para o interior da viatura.

Esta estrada serve também como um conceito de território. Numa das imagens apresentadas é possível perceber uma situação de confronto, e iminente violência.

Almost every time I go to the countryside and the house where Jupiter lives, he waits for me on the road that gives access to it.

He makes a point of coming to greet anyone he passes by. When I park the car and open the door, he looks inside the vehicle with a very agitated expression.

This road also serves as a concept of territory. In one of the images presented it is possible to perceive a situation of confrontation and imminent violence.

Como o Júpiter se trata de um cão que vive num meio rural, é perfeitamente normal que não tenha os mesmos privilégios que muitos cães das cidades têm, tais como desparasitantes. Por isso ele arranja o seu jeito de lidar com o desconforto.

Since Jupiter is a dog that lives in a rural environment, it is perfectly normal that he does not have the same privileges that many city dogs have, such as deworming. That’s why he finds his own way of dealing with discomfort.
